Job Description

Desired Skills and Experience
The Accounting Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and learn about the various aspects of the accounting function at Mintwell. Mintwell internships provide entry-level professionals with real-world learning opportunities in a fun environment to help build future careers. The Accounting Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Accountant but will assist other members of the accounting team and will provide outstanding service to internal clients. Your placement will be undertaken as a part of your work experience through your university work integrated learning module. The experience includes side by side learning, mentorship, and training in a hands-on environment alongside seasoned industry leaders while getting exposure to career opportunities in accounting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Document/review internal financial process and recommended changes to management
Assist in designing financial reports and provide trend reporting and other analysis on an ad-hoc basis
Assist in creating budget templates
Analyse and research financial information pertaining to statements of operations, assets, liabilities, and capital.
Assist with performing research on technical accounting matters, as they may arise
All other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role you will be:
An analytical, problem-solver with good decision-making skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Have an understanding of M.Y.O.B and XERO
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
Able to understand data and make recommendations to inform planning
The ability to learn quickly, with a positive energy, hardworking nature and creative mindset
Excellent communication and listening skills with ability to build rapport quickly
